Hi! My name is Alyssa and I first discovered astrology in 2017 during a major life transition. I had left my job in fashion design and moved home to Maine not having any idea of what to do with my life. Around that time I read an analysis of my natal chart and my mind was blown. One of the first things I read was that Capricorn risings (me) can be reserved and somewhat awkward when young. I had never felt more seen. For years I continued to read about astrology online, learning about my own chart as well as friends and family. With few design jobs in Maine, I went into carpentry and would constantly ask when the sub-contractors’ birthdays were. Although I love both fashion design and carpentry, I decided to pursue a formal education in astrology after discovering the astrologer Steven Forrest. Since 2023 I have been studying at the Forrest Center for Evolutionary Astrology.
My Approach
Under training at the FCEA, I have been taught to use astrology as a tool to help others make positive decisions in their lives. It is not meant to predict certain outcomes or predict how someone will react in a situation. Everyone has free will and the ability to choose how they will face certain life questions. It is my goal to help you become aware of what those questions are and the various ways to approach them. To go back to talking about my chart, yes, as a Capricorn rising I was very shy as a child (I also have Saturn and Neptune on my ascendant - meaning a major part of my development in this life is working on how to feel comfortable in my skin). Had I known what this meant at a younger age, I would have had much more compassion and understanding towards myself instead of thinking “there’s something wrong with me.” Nothing was wrong, there were just better approaches and a deeper meaning behind it that I wasn’t aware of. Astrology helps with that and it is my hope to bring that same feeling of understanding towards yourself, as well as offering practical advice to help reawaken an inner sense of meaning and authenticity.
